Apply for a UK Provisional Licence

Legal Criteria

• Must be at least 15 years and 9 months old.
• Read a plate from 20m (with glasses).
• Lived in UK for 185 days in last 12 months.

Important Note

Driving standard cars starts at age 17. Driving at 16 is only permitted for those receiving the mobility component of PIP.

UK Nationals

• UK Biometric Passport.
• National Insurance Number.

Non-UK Nationals

• BRP Number (Biometric Permit).
• Share Code (for settled status).
• Foreign Passport (Original required by post).
